Inspired by Jewish values of social justice, the Jewish Coalition for Literacy trains and supports tutors, engages parents and expands home libraries to help underserved public school children in San Francisco, Marin, the East Bay and on the Peninsula. Envisions a society where all children can read and are inspired to reach their full potential.

Consider becoming a tutor! The need for tutoring has increased exponentially due to widespread learning loss during the pandemic. Struggling readers and English Language Learners are at particular risk.

All training, tutoring and continuing education are online, with opportunities for placement in virtual school settings, learning hubs or with child- and family serving organizations. If you love working with elementary-school-age children, can log onto Zoom and navigate the internet, sign up for a training session at . The minimum time commitment is one hour each week.
