After school program in Oakland provides a welcoming, safe environment where each child can have fun and make friends as they develop a sense of independence and experience community. Offering a diverse array of organized activities, as well as opportunities for kids to relax and spend time with friends. Provides age-specific programming and inclusive, communal programming and events. Caring, enthusiastic staff serves the children’s various needs, from helping with homework, to reading a story, or playing a boisterous game of soccer in the outdoor play yard.
In addition to core activities, group programming, celebrations, and structured and unstructured play, a wide array of enrichment classes in music, art, cooking, drama and martial arts are offered. The program incorporates elements of Jewish traditions and culture, including Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday afternoons and Jewish holiday celebrations. Programs are fully licensed through the California Community Care Licensing Division and serve as after school destinations for elementary-age children in the Oakland Unified School District. Transportation to the site from area schools is provided by the program.
