After the expulsion of non-Christians from Spain in 1492, Judeo-Spanish culture spread all over the world and evolved into distinct regional traditions — which the Ladino Project aims to bring back together. “MADRE” explores Sephardic song and dance traditions from North Africa, Turkey, the Balkans and beyond, with a special focus on the lives of Sephardi women through the ages. Plus flamenco!

Saturday, June 2 at BRAVA Theatre, 2781 24th St., S.F. 8 p.m. $25-$40.
