San Francisco Towers, located near many of the city’s restaurants and cultural facilities, is yet another regular J. reader favorite. The Towers, an Episcopal Senior Communities continuing care residence, is set in a gorgeous part of San Francisco. Many of the resident rooms have a Bay or city view. Some residents take advantage of the downtown location and volunteer at the symphony, opera, ballet and zoo. Wellness programs include aquatic classes, tai chi, yoga, walking groups and lectures. Numerous groups and activities meet on a daily basis, making sure that residents have as much stimulation and interaction as they desire.

J. readers obviously agree with the Magnolia of Milbrae’s declaration that it’s time to celebrate the best time of life, which is easy to do in this lovely facility, offering independent living accommodation. The residents especially love the special events, birthday parties, adventurous outings, and daily Happy Hour with appetizers, libations and entertainment. An amazing acrobatic performance had the residents talking for days! The Magnolia of Millbrae is licensed throughout for assisted living so residents needing care can stay in their apartments. Restaurant-style breakfast and dinner, fitness activities, cultural activities and holiday celebrations, including a Passover seder, are among the Jewish and cultural events.

One of its properties is Spring Lake Village, new to J.’s Readers’ Choice. Located very close to Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa, this lovely retirement home is located in a lush green part of Santa Rosa.
