Lawyer Alan Dershowitz and Palestinian activist Bassem Eid are scheduled to speak at an L.A. conference run by the pro-Israel advocacy and education agency StandWithUs.
“Combating the Boycott Movement Against Israel” is scheduled March 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The conference is designed to help people understand the tactics of the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, and to present counterstrategies.
Other speakers on the schedule include Richard Cravatts and Asaf Romirowsky, president and executive director, respectively, of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East; Jon Haber, author of “Divest This”; Gerald Steinberg, founder of NGO Monitor; author and investigative journalist Edwin Black; and Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, the Santa Cruz–based executive director of the Amcha Initiative.
Eid is a prominent Palestinian human rights activist who has taken a stand against boycotts of Israel.
Costs range from $150 for students to $450; also available are VIP rates that include a private reception with Dershowitz, the keynote speaker. For information, visit www.standwithus.com or call (310) 836-6140 ext. 130.
