Sarah Martine Buchwalter, a daughter of Lisa and Charles Buchwalter of San Francisco, was married in Lake Tahoe, Calif., on Sunday, August 12 to Ariel Rabin, a son of Varda Rabin and the late Irving Rabin of Tiburon, Calif. Rabbi Stephen Pearce performed the ceremony.

The bride, 29, is graduate of Brown University and is currently pursuing her M.B.A at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Before her M.B.A. studies, she was the Manager of Environmental Sustainability at Sony Pictures Entertainment in L.A.

The bride’s father is President and CEO of Symphony Advanced Media. Her mother is the owner of Best Fit College Consulting, a global college consulting firm.

Mr. Rabin, 31, is a Principal at Rabin Worldwide. He graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering from UC Davis and received his M.B.A. from UCLA.

His father, the late Irving Rabin, was a retired industrial auctioneer and owner of Rabin Worldwide. He was a co-owner of Butterfield & Butterfield before being purchased by eBay. He was president of the board of the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley. His mother, Varda Rabin, is a retired psychologist and has served as the Northern California chair of AIPAC.

The wedding took place three days before Ariel’s father, Irving Rabin, passed away from cancer. Irving was able to sing the couple the song he had prepared for their wedding the night before he passed away.




Hope and Noah Alper of Berkeley, CA and Linda Buckner of Encinitas, CA joyfully announce the wedding of their son Jesse Buckner Alper and Maya Raviv, daughter of Dorit Moreh-Raviv of Givatayim, Israel and Daveed Raviv of Jerusalem, Israel. The couple will be married on September 2 on Kings Mountain in Woodside, CA, and are residing in Kfar Bin Nun, Israel.
