Israels kibbutz movement explored on TV

A documentary exploring the state of Israel’s kibbutz movement in the 21st century will air on local television. “Keeping the Kibbutz” screens 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, on KQED.

Co-directed by Ben Crosbie and Tessa Moran, “Keeping the Kibbutz” was filmed during the summer of 2007 on Kfar Giladi. The documentary explores the history of the kibbutz movement and how the modern economic climate has impacted life on Israel’s iconic rural collectives.
