Born May 31, 1923, in Superior, Wis. Moved to the Bay Area in 1950 and settled into his home in Pacifica in 1963. Owned and operated Vern’s Coffee Shop in Daly City for 30 years. Active member of B’nai B’rith, and recently the Gateway Lion’s Club. Traveled the world with his wife. Volunteered at Doelger Senior Center in Daly City and the Jewish Home in San Francisco. Services were held at Congregation Beth Israel-Judea in San Francisco with burial at Salem Memorial Park in Colma. Born in Bogota, Columbia. Immigrated to United States in 1949. Graduated from Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco in 1961. Received a bachelor of arts degree in history from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1965. Served in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic where he met and married his wife. Eagle Scout. Assistant scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 43, Corte Madera.
