Ellie M. Cohen and Michal T. Goralsky were married Feb. 14 at City Hall in San Francisco. Bill Haley of the City Hall staff performed the ceremony. Witnesses were Michelle Bourgault and Janet Thornburgh.
Ellie received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She is executive director of PRBO Conservation Science. She is the daughter of Helen Mae Schlossberg Cohen and Gilbert M. Cohen of Baltimore and the sister of Jay Wolf Schlossberg Cohen of Baltimore, Jeff M. Cohen of Paris and Debby Lee Cohen of New York.
Michal, a filmmaker, received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Visual Arts Center in Beersheva, Israel, and a master of fine arts from San Francisco Art Institute. She served in the Israel Defense Forces. She is the daughter of Jack (and Jayne) Goralsky and the late Leah Chernys Goralsky. She is the sister of Talya Mozes of Frederick, Md., and Eitan Goralsky of Boston. Grandmother is Sophie Chernys of Petach Tikvah, Israel.
Ellie and Michal met through Congregation Sha’ar Zahav and moved in together in 1999 to start a family. They are the parents of Leah Minnie Goralsky Cohen.
The couple is planning a honeymoon to Israel.
Laura Elizabeth Asher and Joshua Neal Marder were married Feb. 15 at Congregation Beth Jacob in Atlanta. Twelve rabbis, friends of the bride and groom from Yeshiva University and Congregation Beth Jacob, performed the ceremony.
The bride, daughter of Susan Schiller and Dr. Harold Asher of Atlanta, is a teacher.
The groom, son of Randa and Jay Rodney Marder of Altamonte Springs, Fla., is a rabbinical student at Yeshiva University and a teacher. He is the brother of Talia Marder of Atlanta and the nephew of Dr. Valeria Kreger of Cloverdale and Leland Marder of Covelo. Grandparents are Helen and Bob Klein of Boca Raton, Fla., Dorothy Marder of Cloverdale, and the late Dr. Irving Marder.
Maid of honor was Talia Marder.
After a honeymoon in New York, the newlyweds are living in Flushing, N.Y.
Cristina Arguedas and Carole Migden were married Feb. 20 at City Hall in San Francisco. Mayor Gavin Newsom officiated.
Cristina is a defense attorney with Arguedas, Cassman and Headley. She is the daughter of Dorothy and Arthur Arguedas of Westwood, N.J.
Carole is chairwoman of the California Board of Equalization and currently California’s only female Constitutional officer. She is the daughter of Simonne and Nathan Migden of Yonkers, N.Y.
The newlyweds are living in San Francisco.
