The San Francisco Bay Area has had a weekly Jewish community paper since
1896.
The Jewish Bulletin of Northern California is the successor to the Emanuel.
Over 26,000 copies are distributed each week. The community owned paper
is
governed by an independent board of directors. The BulletinŐs editorial
coverage
includes reporting on local, national and international events as well
as analysis of
trends in the community which affect Jews. A readership survey of Jewish
media
readers conducted by Media Research Institute (MRI) determined that Jewish
media
readers are extremely well-educated, affluent homeowners. They travel
often,
dine out frequently, and are actively involved in arts and cultural events.
National and local advertisers have found that the Jewish Bulletin serves
as
an effective print vehicle to reach their customers.
