The title story in Nathan Englander’s latest collection, “What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank,” follows two couples sitting around a kitchen table and engaging in an alcohol-fueled discussion of history, the embrace or rejection of Jewish tradition and the Holocaust. Word for Word, the San Francisco theater ensemble, will bring this charged story to life in a staged reading of Englander’s work.
