Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson and his wife, Miriam, made a $50 million donation to the Adelson Education Campus in Las Vegas.

The donation will benefit the campus’ three Jewish day schools, serving some 600 students from preschool to high school. The gift was announced Feb. 8, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

The Adelson campus was modeled after the Reali School in Haifa, which Miriam Adelson attended for 12 years.

“It was an institution that not only had high academic standards but also instilled values and friendships for life,” Miriam Adelson said in a statement announcing the gift.

Paul Schiffman, head of the campus, said in a statement that he was grateful to the Adelsons for the “remarkable gift.” — jta
