Team Green, part of the Club 18 teen program at the JCC of San Francisco, is leading a community mural project May 8 and 9 at Raymond Kimball Park in San Francisco. Team Green will be painting a wall surrounding a flowerbed near the corner of Pierce and O’Farrell streets in the Western Addition.
Team Green is a yearlong service-learning program, launched last October. Teens engage in ongoing stewardship and learning. Team Green members are designing and planning all aspects of the mural, which is the program’s culminating event. As project stewards, they will lead community members in the painting of the mural.
Team Green is partnering with San Francisco Neighborhood Parks Council, San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and the Friends of Raymond Kimball Park Group. Kristi Holohan, an artist who has led a number of Bay Area community art projects, is also involved.
The project will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, contact Rachel Kamen at (415) 292-1249 or by e-mail at [email protected].
