Ahlf, Phyllis Harrington In Sebastopol, April 14. Age 70. Mother of Beverly Ackerman and Jason Ahlf. Sister of George Clifford (and Karen) Harrington. Grandmother of Russell Ackerman and Joshua Ahlf. Longtime cancer survivor. Homewood Terrace alumna. At her request, no funeral was held. Donations to The Fund for Animals, 200 W. 57th St., New York, NY 10019.

Frankel, Molly A. Hitzig In Redwood City, April 15. Wife of Sol Frankel for 57 years. Mother of Rosalyn Frankel (and Thomas) Jamison, Monica Shelley Frankel (and George Y. Ikinaga). Grandmother of Jesslyn and Kevin Frankel Jamison and Jonathan Ikinaga. Funeral services were held at Hills of Eternity Memorial Park Chapel, Colma. Arrangements by Sinai Memorial Chapel.

Liston, Morris A. In San Francisco, April 14. Age 85. Husband of the late Inge-Maria Liston for 46 years. Father of Robert (and Marie) Liston, Nina (and Dino) Bonos, James (and Ellen) Liston. Grandfather of Daniel and Greg Liston, Lisa and Peter Bonos, Matthew and Michael Liston. Brother of Simon Lichenstein and Beatrice Weisbrod. Born in Dallas and graduated from Texas A&M University. President of Hillel during his college years. Moved to San Francisco in 1945, following three years service in the armed forces constructing bridges and roads in India during World War II. Active as a temple docent at Congregation Emanu-El and longtime member of Emanu-El’s building committee. Founding member and confirmation class teacher in the 1950s at Daly City’s Temple Judaea, now known as Beth Israel-Judea. In the 1960s in Daly City, twice served as Cub master for Pack 63 and PTA president for Olympia School. President of the Westlake Homeowners Improvement Association. Active in the Golden Gate Springer Spaniel Association. Funeral services were held at Home of Peace Cemetery Chapel, Colma. Moncharsh, Fay Title In Santa Clara, April 14. Age 97. Wife of the late Abe Moncharsh. Sister of Mary Riesman. Sister-in-law of Nathan, Rachel and David Moncharsh. Aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt. Born in 1906 in Apot, Poland. Moved to Canada in 1920 at age 13 with her two sisters and two brothers. Married Abe Moncharsh in 1951. San Francisco resident from 1951 until moving to Cupertino in 1998. President of the San Francisco chapter of Na’amat Women until her death. Services were held at Salem Memorial Park, Colma. Donations to Na’amat USA, 350 Fifth Ave., No. 4700, New York, NY 10118.

Piccolo, Bertha In South San Francisco, April 8. Age 87. Mother of Ron (and Sharon) Salzberg. Sister of Maurice (and Ruth) Shalin. Grandmother of Chantal Salzberg and Adrian L. Toler. Aunt of Shirley, Michael and Steven Levy, Valerie Abramovitz, David Shalinsky, Arlene and Nancy Goldstein, Leatrice Ford, Judith Leitner and Robert Shelly. Rudee, Genevieve A. In Daly City, April 9. Age 99. Wife of the late Mervyn Rudee. Mother of Marilyn E. (and Maxwell) Singer and Robert W. (and Valerie) Rudee. Grandmother of five. Great-grandmother of nine. Sister of the late Milton Abraham. Born Aug. 5, 1904. At her request, private services were held at Hills of Eternity Memorial Park, Colma. Schwartz, Mollie Cohen In Danville, April 12. Age 86. Mother of Jeryl Cohen Abelmann (and Ronald Abelmann) and Jeffrey Cohen. Grandmother of Michael (and Wendy) Abelmann, David Abelmann, Randy (and Mischa) Cohen and Tadd (and Mary) Cohen. Born in 1918 in Russia. Came to San Francisco in 1926. Graduated from Commerce High School in 1937. Founding member of the Santa Rosa chapter of Hadassah and the Santa Rosa Jewish Community Center. Served on the Sonoma County Grand Jury from 1969-1970. Honored by the city of San Francisco on her 80th birthday, when Jan. 6, 1999, was proclaimed Mollie Cohen Schwartz Day. Services were held at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park, with interment following.
