Politicians, officials, rabbis merge for Bible celebration

Sen. Barbara Boxer, the Rev. Alan Jones of Grace Cathedral and Israeli Consul General Yossi Amrani are among the featuring participants in "Bible by the Bay," a program celebrating the Bible's multicultural heritage from 1 to 9 p.m. at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael.

Workshops with Rabbis Mark Levy, Alan Lew and Daniel Kohn and many more will take place from 1 to 5 p.m., with a children's fair available during the same time frame. An evening program will follow, including speakers reading a favorite Bible passage and musicians offering up "The Bible in Song."
