Mitzvah Day to bring S.F. students together

Congregation Sherith Israel religious school will hold its first annual Mitzvah Day on Sunday. Students from preschool through confirmation at the San Francisco synagogue will participate in citywide activities. This will be the first time all of the school's students participate at once.

Activities will include making toiletry packs and sandwiches for the Reform congregation's soup kitchen, visiting the elderly and sick at Laurel Convalescent Home and Laguna Honda, visiting dogs and cats at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, feeding the needy at Glide Memorial Church and performing a book burial at Hills of Eternity Cemetery.
