Israeli soldiers provided medical care to four wounded Syrians on the Golan Heights border.

The Syrians approached the border March 20 and were treated near the fence there, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.

Two of the Syrians were taken to Israeli hospitals due to the severity of their injuries, according the IDF. They will be returned to Syria following their treatment. Two others who were less severely injured will be returned “later on,” the IDF statement said.

In February, seven Syrian rebels entered Israel through the Golan Heights and were treated in Israeli hospitals. Six were quietly repatriated at an undisclosed location for their own safety; one was very severely injured.
