Message: <br /><br /> If you are having trouble reading this email, you may view this article online at: http://www.jweekly.com/59002/full/59002/weekend-events-celebrate-reopening/ <br /><br /> <b>Weekend events celebrate reopening</b> <br /> Thursday, August 19, 2010 | by <br /><br /><p>Congregation Kol Shofar will mark its grand reopening with two free events next weekend.</p> <p>A “Returning of the Torahs” ceremony will commence at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon to thank its members for their hospitality during the reconstruction project.</p> <p>“We’re doing the reverse of what we did a year and a half ago,” said Hagar Ben-Eliezer, Kol Shofar programming director. “On Feb. 8, 2009 we marched halfway down Blackfield Drive, where the Westminster community met us and we sang and danced.”</p> <p>Kol Shofar congregants will then walk with members of Westminster to install the Torahs in their new ark at the revamped synagogue site. A Kabbalat Shabbat service and oneg will follow beginning at 8 p.m.</p> <p>The dedication and celebration continues at 11 a.m. Aug. 29 with activities for kids and adults, including tours of the remodeled building and religious school, kosher cooking demonstrations by Mangia Nosh and live music by Klezmania.</p> <p>Ben-Eliezer expects more than 600 attendees, including local government leaders.</p> <p>Parking will be available in the synagogue’s lot, located at 215 Blackfield Drive. Kol Shofar is asking that people not park on neighborhood streets.
