A World War II monument in France was painted with anti-Semitic graffiti.

The monument in memory of the deportation of Jews from Marmande, in southwest France, was vandalized Aug. 4 with words in red paint that read “lies,” “Zionism”  and “interests” along with a dollar sign.

A swastika, as well as white supremacist epithets, were found three days later on a telephone booth near the memorial. — jta
