Several musicians whose glory days are long gone have been invited to perform in Israel this summer: Sir Cliff Richard, Diana Ross and Neil Sedaka.

Others previously scheduled to appear include Paul Anka, Elton John and Leonard Cohen, who performed in Israel last year and drew large crowds.

Richard, who will be 70 soon, is perhaps the most prestigious of the artists. The British knight had a dazzling music career that began in the late 1950s and lasted around 20 years, and he put on a show in Israel in the early ’70s.

The man who invited him this summer is the same individual who secured his original appearance, Shmuel Tzemach. He has already booked the Nokia hall in Tel Aviv for two September shows. — ynetnews.com
