Swastikas and Palestinian flags were drawn on the walls of a Jaffa synagogue.

The charcoal graffiti was drawn April 17 on the Beit El synagogue in the predominantly Arab-Muslim neighborhood of Ajami and also on the house of Jews living next door. In addition, the tires of the Jewish residents’ cars were punctured.

The synagogue has been across the street from the French ambassador’s residence for more than 50 years.

The Ajami neighborhood was featured in an Academy Award–nominated film titled “Ajami.”. — jta
