An upcoming series of workshops at Jewish Family and Children’s Services in San Francisco has been scheduled to offer advice and support to those who take care of aging, frail parents.
The four-session series will address: how to manage the stress and strain of caring for a loved one; how to maintain a personal, professional and family life; and how to avoid burnout.
“Seniors at Home: Caring for Those You Care About,” begins 6 p.m. Feb. 8 at Jewish Family and Children’s Services, 2150 Post St., S.F. Other sessions are Feb. 22, March 1 and March 8.
Nurses, social workers and clergy will address a range of issues, such as serving as an effective advocate for yourself and for those in your care; setting appropriate boundaries with the person you’re caring for; coping with difficult health conditions; and preparing for compassionate end-of-life care.
Each session costs $10 and includes
a light dinner. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, call (415) 449-3777 or e-mail [email protected].
