Message: <br /><br /> If you are having trouble reading this email, you may view this article online at: http://www.jweekly.com/41132/full/41132/contra-costa-jcc-offers-dialogues-series/ <br /><br /> <b>Contra Costa JCC offers Dialogues series</b> <br /> Thursday, January 21, 2010 | by <br /><br /><p>The Contra Costa Jewish Community Center is set to launch the annual speaker series “Dialogues.” Funded by a grant from the Koret Foundation, Dialogues this year includes everything from jazz to Israeli cuisine.</p> <p>With Rabbi Harold Robinson inaugurating the series this year on Tuesday, Jan. 26, upcoming speakers include:</p> <p>Lecturer, social scientist and author of “Sixty on Up” Lillian Rubin, who will discuss aging in America on Feb. 11.</p> <p>NPR Jerusalem correspondent Linda Gradstein appears March 23, with a lecture titled “Covering Israel: A Jewish Journalist’s Prospective.”</p> <p>Author and Israeli food personality Janna Gur will speak April 27 on the subject of Tel Aviv and 100 years of Israeli culinary history.</p> <p>Renowned jazz saxophonist and educator Pete Yellin will perform and share “Jazzed Up! The Changing Face of Jazz” May 26.</p> <p>All lectures begin at 7:30 pm. Tickets for all five lectures are available as a package for a reduced price. Individual lecture tickets are also available.
