The JWB Jewish Chaplains Council says the lightweight Torahs will supplement the 60 Torahs that are at bases around the world but are too large for a chaplain to carry.</p> <p>The first of the six, not yet finished, was shown off at the Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly in Washington on Nov. 10.</p> <p>The Chaplains Council said there are more than 10,000 Jewish men and women currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces. <em>— jta</em></p>
