Message: <br /><br /> If you are having trouble reading this email, you may view this article online at: http://www.jweekly.com/40428/full/40428/house-condemns-goldstone-report/ <br /><br /> <b>House condemns Goldstone report</b> <br /> Thursday, November 5, 2009 | by <br /><br /><p>The House of Representatives on Nov. 3 condemned the Goldstone report as “irredeemably biased and unworthy of further consideration or legitimacy.”</p> <p>On a 344-36 vote, with 22 voting present, the House passed a nonbinding resolution that urges President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “to oppose unequivocally any endorsement” of the U.N. report, which accuses Israeli forces and Palestinian militants of war crimes in Gaza last winter.</p> <p>House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said the report is “unfair, unbalanced and inaccurate” in its portrayal of Israel’s response to attacks from Hamas. The U.N. General Assembly planned to take up the 575-page report’s findings later in the week.</p> <p>In a press release, AIPAC said it “strongly applauds” the “overwhelming bipartisan passage” of the resolution. <em>— ap</em></p>
