Nearly 500 people attended the March 29 dedication ceremony for the Erna and Arthur Salm Holocaust and Genocide Memorial Grove at Sonoma State University.

Jann Nunn, a professor of sculpture, designed the recently completed memorial. A number of Sonoma State art students helped her construct it.

The sculpture is meant to be a reminder of past and present genocides, while also serving as a symbol of communal and global commitments to prevent future crimes against humanity.
