There are some 225,000 non-Jewish immigrants and their families living here, of whom 200,000 are Christian and 25,000 unclassified.

The Arab population reached 1,215,000, 18.7 percent of the total. This includes Muslims (15.2 percent of the total population), Druse (1.6 percent) and Christians (2.15 percent), and has remained constant for the past few years.
