We are we giving Israel $3 billion a year?

If Israel is doing so well economically, why is the United States giving Israel $3 billion a year in military aid? Why isn’t Israel buying our weapons with its own money instead of our tax money?

Return on Investment

Israeli innovation brings revenue and therefore more jobs to American companies. Also profits to American investors, all leading to more tax income to the US government. Do we get that kind of return on investment from Egypt? The PA? UNRWA?
