Pictures from JTA of the Chelsea Clinton, Marc Mezvinsky wedding

The wedding was officiated by a rabbi, James Ponet, head of the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale University,

along with a Methodist minister.

The marriage took place under a chupah. Friends of the couple recited the traditional “sheva brachot,”

the seven traditional Jewish blessings given to the bride and groom.

The groom broke a glass with his foot, as is tradition.

And according to several reports, guests danced the hora and lifted the former president and the secretary of state, Bill and Hillary Clinton,

in chairs during the dance.

The groom wore a yarmulke and a tallit.

Local note: My first cousin,

Local note: My first cousin, Esther Geller z/l, (daughter of Mollie Kalis Geller, my father’s sister) married Ed Mazvinsky z/l of Iowa. The spelling is different but the likelihood that the two families were related is high. Others in my family wonder if we are related and certainly were interested in the wedding but no invitations :o) I am in my 88th year and not doing much traveling these days anyway.
