The conversation on pluralism did spend some time on the new Federation guidelines, but it also covered a lot more ground than that.
As I wrote on my blog at http://www.kissamezuzah.blogspot.com/ it also covered such things such as the definition of pluralism, what to do when faced with someone who disagrees that pluralism is a positive thing, and who is or isn’t a Jew.
I also think it’s important to note that the Federation making decisions about funding is not the same thing at all as them trying to say who is or isn’t Jewish.

Peter Stein is upset with the new rules?
Did it ever to him that he is properly answerable to others, or does he think that he is answerable only to himself?
The documentary was crude and incompetent, but then neither talent or quality is necessarily a condition for inclusion in the SFJFF. Even allowing Jewish Voice for Peace to co-sponsor is not a venal sin, as they are Jewish (even if they act as if they are ashamed of it).
It was providing a Jewish platform to the anti-Semitic mother of an anti-semitic ISM member to spew her hatred and lies.
This last is the root of the the JCF’s finally coming to grips with the issue of providing a platform to those who hate us.
