Yid-filled indie pop band Princeton will play a special Chanukah show at Spaceland, 1717 Silverlake Blvd., Los Angeles this Saturday, Dec. 12.

Yes, I realize Los Angeles is not in the Greater Bay Area, but perhaps a hearty handful of our readers are a) heading home for the holiday (ahem, ME) or b) already living in the heated hipster playland.

The show will feature surprise musical collaborations along with eight handpicked Chanukah gifts to be given out to audience members. The band was inspired to play a Jewy holiday show in part by its sonic brethren, Yo La Tango, who annually host Chanukah concerts.

Based in Los Angeles, Princeton was formed by twins Jesse and Matt Kivel and pals Ben Usen and David Kitz a few short years back. The band released its debut album Cocoon of Love (Kanine Records) this past September.

Musically, they've been compared to Vampire Weekend, Beirut and Belle & Sebastian — all of which are fairly accurate and I feel, quite complimentary.

Happy (Hebrew) Holidays Southern California!
