Tommy (Harrison Ford): What do you call this part of the horse?
Avram (Gene Wilder): The tuches!
Tommy: Well, you just keep your eyes on this took-iss, and don't take them off 'till we get to San Francisco!

Not to nerd out on all of you or anything, but I am a newly-realized "Frisco Kid" fan and am tickled pink that the Contemporary Jewish Museum plans to screen the 1979 comedy-western on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The film follows Avram, a Polish rabbi bound for San Francisco, and Tommy, a gruff-talking cowboy hottie. Avram must keep the Torah sacred in the rough-and-tumble Old West, Tommy is a bank robber. Hilarity ensues.

Though the film is a well-worn classic, I only recently discovered the comedic gem. While browsing through Netflix, my boyfriend and I sought a film that would entertain us both, a difficult feat. I like movies about Jews, he likes Westerns. I think you know where this is going.

The gist:
"The Frisco Kid"
Sunday, Nov. 15 from 2-4 PM
Richard and Rhoda Goldman Hall in the Contemporary Jewish Museum
$10 general/$8 CJM Members. Ticket includes Museum admission.
