Kosha Dillz, crunchy hip hop2:35 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2009by emily savage
Jewish rapper Kosha Dillz seems to be everywhere right now. He's currently on tour with that wacky reggae singer Matisyahu, his solo album Beverly Dillz (Shemspeed) drops Nov.10, and he's recently taken on Portland indie rockers YACHT with an eight-song remix EP titled Yacht vs Kosha Dillz-Swim Club. Releasing his first vinyl 12 inch in 2005, the Hebraic hip hop artist has since performed with acts such as bratty Brit rapper Lady Sovereign, Nas and RZA (of Wu Tang fame). The New Jersey-born rapper's uptempo rhymes feature references to everything from spiritual life to his cell phone of choice (Blackberry). He also claims to have recorded the first Hebrew song on an American indie-rap album, "Kol Ha Kavod Lirkod (its all good to dance)". Not totally sure about that one, but his style is indeed unique.
