The Russian Jewess LIVE

The ever-stunning and quirky Russian Jewess Regina Spektor is set to perform on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, Oct. 10. And yes folks, she'll be coming here too. She'll perform a set of her distinctive ditties on Oct. 30 at the Fox Theater in Oakland. I'd suggest buying presale, as this birdie has a ravenous posse.

Spektor was born in Moscow and studied classical piano throughout her childhood. When her family emigrated to New York they were unable to bring the piano with them so she practiced in the basement of a local synagogue. Her songs are a chirpy mix of punk and classical, old school Jewish sounds and modern hip hop.

She released her newest album Far (Sire Records) this past June.
