Watching TBS makes me think about synagogue

Do you ever think about synagogue when watching “Family Guy,” Everybody Loves Raymond,” “King of Queens” or any other show on the cable network TBS?

I do. Here’s how it happens:

I don’t get cable at home, but when I’m working out at my health club, sometimes I’ll watch a show on TBS (as I become master not of my own domain … but … Stair Master!).

Almost every break, TBS will run promos for its other shows, always showcasing a huge image of its logo – that half-circle that you see to the left.

That’s when the synagogue thing happens.

My mind can’t help but flash onto Temple Beth Sholom’s new building at 14th Avenue and Clement Street in San Francisco’s Richmond District.building_beth_sholom_360

I wonder if the same thing will happen this summer whenever  I see (and eat) a half slice of watermelon watermelon_2_146.
