Comix Friday: New on Nextbook1:10 pm Friday, May 8, 2009by rachel leibold
I also just discovered "Sandals of Time," a cute comic Vanessa did for the New York Times on a "rite of summer" she discovered after moving to Santa Rosa from Brooklyn. I love finding little pieces my favorite comic artists have done! ~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~
"The Inner Life of Martin Frost," based on the novel "The Book of Illusions" by Jewish author Paul Auster, recently won two awards at the New York Book Show. The Bookbinders' Guild of New York named it "Best Art Book Under $75" and "Best Book -- Special Trade." "Martin Frost" is a collaboration between Auster and illustrator Glenn Thomas. It also won an award for "Best Book Design of 2008" from Design, Type & Graphics magazine. I won't even begin to try to understand what this book (or the original) is about - if anyone's read it, let me know in the comments! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Comix Friday is published in the Art Scene blog every Friday, and focuses on Jewish comic artists and Jewish-themed comix. If you know of anything I should be blogging about in Comix Friday, let me know! Permalink Leave a comment Spread the Word E-mail a friend
