Shalom, Gossip Girl7:06 am Tuesday, April 21, 2009by emily savage It finally happened, and I for one couldn't be more pleased. The wondrous guilty-pleasure juggernaut that is "Gossip Girl" finally aired an entire episode arc based on Jewish tradition. Well, sort of. Last night the CW drama followed newish character Cyrus (Blair Waldorf's mom's new husband) as he prepared for a seder at the Waldorfs. As expected, chaos ensued. I couldn't help but squeal each time a little piece of Jewish fell in to the Gossip Girl-world. A kippah atop fair Rufus's head? Check. Jokes about where Elijah should sit? Check. Perhaps a bit too much wine? Check, check, check. Daniel Sweren-Becker from the Huffington Post actually recapped the episode much better than I ever could. So, if you are a true fan or just need a minute-by-minute play-by-play, you should check his post today. Oh, and one last comment. Every episode of "Gossip Girl" ends with the mysterious narrator signing off "xo xo, Gossip Girl." Last night, however ladyfriend spouts "Shalom, Gossip Girl!"
