Rabbi-blessed tequila11:42 am Wednesday, April 1, 2009by emily savage Just in time for Passover, New York businessman Martin Silver is launching a new kosher tequila. Silver is president of the Long Island-based Star Industries. While the official launch of Agave 99 will coincide with Cinco de Mayo, it will be sold earlier for Passover. According to the AP story, Silver says a half million cases of the kosher tequila are being produced at a Mexican plant using methods certified by a rabbi. The high-end, 99-proof tequila will retail for $41.95 a bottle. There will be Mexican and Yiddish music at the official launch on May 5 in New York. Viva la kosher tequila!
