Madoff and the Jews10:57 am Monday, March 16, 2009by emily savage Personally burned by Madoff? Tangentially burned by Madoff? Just interested in how it all went down and what it means for the Jews? This newest edition of the PBS program "Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly" (broadcast locally on KQED this Saturday, March 21) will include a segment on the Jewish reaction to the Madoff scandal. The $50 billion dollar Ponzi scheme perpetrated by Bernard Madoff has reportedly taken an extremely large toll on Jewish foundations and charities in the U.S and abroad. In the report, correspondent Betty Rollin explores how the scandal has affected the Jewish nonprofit world and what Rabbinical Jewish teachings tell us about business ethics.
The segment, tentatively titled "Jewish Reaction to the Madoff Scandal," will air on KQED (Channel 9): Permalink Leave a comment Spread the Word E-mail a friend CommentsBe the first to comment! Leave a Comment
