Israel’s “Idol” comes to the States12:55 pm Thursday, March 12, 2009by rachel leibold
Apparently this isn't an unprecedented move for "Kochav Nolad" - in previous years, auditions have been held in places like India and South America. (India, I suppose, to accommodate the gaggles of Israeli youth that descend on Southeast Asia after the army...) The article also notes that guest judges for the American auditions will include big names like Enrique Iglesias, Dolly Parton, the Black Eyed Peas, Phil Collins and Tom Jones. Impressive. To register, you'll need to provide a link to a video of yourself singing. So if you qualify, get out that camera and sing your heart out. Follow the link above for more info (Hebrew only) or to register for an audition. I'm a little disappointed that I'm not eligible - I mean, my covers of songs by Noa, Mika Karni and David Broza sound soooo good in the shower. And I was looking forward to meeting Gal Uchovsky, the partner of Israeli director Eytan Fox, who's a judge for the competition. Alas, it was not meant to be! I'll have to try and catch a bootleg version stateside. Permalink Leave a comment Spread the Word E-mail a friend
