Survivors, relatives condemn Gaza ‘genocide’

Follow j. on   and

Some 40 people identifying as Jewish Holocaust survivors and more than 200 direct descendants of survivors, including a number of Bay Area residents, signed a public letter condemning Israel’s military operation in Gaza and accusing it of “ongoing genocide.”

The letter, published Aug. 23 in the New York Times as a half-page advertisement, also condemns the “ongoing occupation and colonization of historic Palestine” and the United States “for providing Israel with the funding to carry out the attack.”

The signatories come from 26 countries representing four generations. The letter was sponsored by the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network.

In a statement, the network said the letter was written in response to an ad campaign in which Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor and Nobel Prize laureate, compares the murder of children during the Holocaust to Hamas’ actions in Gaza. — jta

You need to condemn Hamas.

If you are talking about occupation than, there is occupation and apartheid in Gaza because of Hamas terrorist Government. You can’t blame Israel. Hamas, is responsible of murdering of 2,000 Palestinians. Hamas, lunch it’s rockets on Israel from civilian population such as, houses, schools, hospitals, and etc. Do you expect Israel not to defend itself? What would you do if the rockets would fly over your houses? How would you deal with that? Would you not to defend yourself, your houses, your families and your friends? What Israel did in Gaza called, self defense. Israel, has the right for self defense and always will.
