The JCC of San Francisco will kick off its second annual Tikkun Series of volunteer workdays with a High Holy Days food drive.
The JCCSF will begin putting out barrels in early September for clothing and food drives as well as hosting events for volunteers at Bay Area nonprofits.
During the first program, on Sept. 14, volunteers will work on the grounds of the 55-acre San Francisco Botanical Gardens.
Other events include an Urban Harvest at Alemany Farm in San Francisco, where volunteers will work the soil and help with the harvest, and a day of stocking and packing food donations for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.
“This program gives people the opportunity to engage with each other and connect with local organizations,” said Sara Linden, program director at the JCCSF.
