Food peddlers at a past festival
You should eat something! If you’re going to the Jewish Food Festival in Carmel Valley, you’d better arrive hungry. The 27th annual event features a generous spread of traditional Jewish comfort foods, such as potato latkes, chicken soup and homemade baked goods, including challah and rugelach. Israeli folk dancing, live klezmer music and a traditional Jewish wedding re-enactment are also on the day’s schedule. 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at Congregation Beth Israel, 5716 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley. “The Music of John Denver.” Musician Jim Curry performs the late singer’s greatest hits in a benefit for Congregation Beth Shalom of Napa Valley.
