The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco will host an evening of art, live music and other activities for the after-work crowd at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5.
The theme of the event, “Rise,” celebrates Shavuot as well as current museum exhibits — with a contemporary twist. CJM curator Lily Siegel will provide a “flash” tour of “Designing Home: Jews and Midcentury Modernism.” Torso, a San Francisco boutique, will dress models in vintage couture in the lobby.
The San Francisco bar Tonic will be pouring signature cocktails such as the Eleventh Commandment, the Broken Tablet and Up All Night. Snacks will be provided by the Grilled Cheez Guy, and Wise Sons Deli’s Leo Beckerman will demonstrate challah braiding.
The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 after 5 p.m. or included with museum admission. For more information and a full listing of activities, visit http://www.thecjm.org or call (415) 655-7800.
