Celebrate Mom. Come to San Francisco with your preschooler and celebrate Mother’s Day with a morning of arts and crafts, a puppet show and live music from local musician Alison Faith Levy. Known for her child-friendly rock with the band the Sippy Cups, Levy got her start as a pop and jazz performer and was in the ’90s power pop group the Loud Family. 10 a.m. Sunday, May 11 at the CJM, 736 Mission St., S.F. Artist Susie Coliver, a designer of Jewish prayer spaces, will give an illustrated presentation about her work and how attitudes toward sanctuary design have changed over the years in “Jewish Sacred Space: Designing with Light and Shadow.” Coliver will discuss how natural light plays an important role in her own work. 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at the Jewish Community Library, 1835 Ellis St., S.F.
