Israel’s future. Author and journalist Yossi Klein Halevi comes to the Bay Area to discuss the future of Judaism in Israel and its implications for American Jews. Halevi, a former writer for the Jerusalem Report, is a contributing editor to the New Republic and a research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute. His 2013 book, “Like Dreamers: The Story of the Israeli Paratroopers who Reunited Jerusalem and Divided a Nation,” won the National Jewish Book Award. 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at CJM, 736 Mission St., S.F.
