Literacy group seeks volunteer tutors

The Jewish Coalition for Literacy is conducting training sessions for new tutors, who are asked to work one hour a week with a K-3 student. JCL recruits, trains, places and supports tutors in schools and after-school programs throughout the Bay Area. Here are the upcoming sessions:

On the Peninsula: 1 p.m. April 3 at Mariano Castro Elementary School, 505 Escuela Ave., Mountain View; 10 a.m. May 4 at Peninsula Sinai Congregation, 499 Boothbay Ave., Foster City. (650) 847-1718 or
