Communication is more than the ability to exchange words — it is the ability to connect with someone. Learn strategies for improving communication skills with memory-impaired individuals at a free workshop offered by Jewish Family and Children’s Services in Sonoma County.

Called Compassionate Communication and Challenging Behaviors, the session also can help prepare caregivers for possible behavioral changes in memory-impaired adults, and ways to respond should they occur.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. April 23 at JFCS, 1360 N. Dutton Ave., Suite C, Santa Rosa. Registration by calling the Alzheimer’s Association at (707) 573-1210.
