‘The UnAmericans’  San Francisco author Molly Antopol discusses her debut collection of eight stories about Jewish characters struggling to find their footing in life and dealing with alienation, loneliness and love — from an Israeli soldier defending Americans in Jerusalem to a young journalist dating a middle-age widower still mourning his wife. Antopol is a 2013 National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 award recipient whose work has been praised as smart, empathetic and “fully imagined.” 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at Jewish Community Library 1835 Ellis St., S.F.
