Mandel Foundation gives $13 million to Ben-Gurion U.

The Cleveland-based Mandel Found-ation awarded more than $13 million to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

The gift from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation includes a $10 million capital grant to construct the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Institute for Social Leadership building and $3.1 million to establish the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Honors Program in Social Leadership, which will be housed in the new building, the university announced Feb. 18.

The 40,000-square-foot building, designed by Plesner Architects of Tel Aviv, will house classrooms, studios, offices, auditoriums and research facilities.

The foundation has had a longstanding relationship with Ben-Gurion University. — jta
